Some of the best Tahoe memories happen between the plans. Coffee with a view of the water. A paddle along the shore. Dinner together after a day outside. The familiar comfort of a place you’re happy to come back to.
Welcoming people into those moments has been part of the Mourelatos family’s story since 1978, when Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort began its place in North Lake Tahoe’s history. For more than two decades, Alex Mourelatos helped carry that tradition forward, welcoming guests who returned year after year and watching Tahoe become part of their families’ stories, too.
Today, that hospitality continues through Mourelatos Lake Properties: a family collection of four distinctive North Shore homes.
Every trip asks for something a little different. A place to gather by the lake. A comfortable base for trails and adventures. A cozy escape for two. A home where the view invites everyone to slow down.
That is the idea behind our collection. Each home offers its own setting, character and way to enjoy Tahoe—from waterfront days at the Lake House to a soak after exploring at Tahoe Retreat, quiet time at the Warm Guest House, or gathering with lake views at Skyland.
What connects them is personal care, local knowledge and the belief that where you stay should become a meaningful part of your trip.
For Alex, Tahoe is both a place to welcome guests and a community to care for. His years of local service reflect a commitment to the recreation, neighborhoods and community life that make the North Shore special.
We hope you’ll experience that connection during your stay—in a thoughtful recommendation, help when you need it, and a home that gives you room to enjoy Tahoe your way.
Whether this is your first visit or a return to a place you already love, we look forward to welcoming you.

For nearly 50 years at Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort, the Mourelatos family’s greatest pride was seeing guests return, year after year. Those relationships grew through shared experiences and the everyday care that made people feel welcome.
Wine tastings, art classes, music and breakfasts brought guests together. Days on the water meant paddleboarding, kayaking and discovering new ways to enjoy the lake. Sometimes, it was simply a beach chair, a barbecue and time to take in the view.
Behind those moments was steady dedication: clearing winter pathways, helping dig guests out after snowstorms and making sure guests could count on their hosts in every season.
That same commitment carries forward into today’s collection of homes—the desire to offer something thoughtful, help guests feel cared for and give them a reason to return.
For Alex, the inspiration remains simple: “We live here and love this mountain life.”
